In this tour, we take you to discover the most geographically remote and highest area of the island of São Miguel. Following by the southern coast, we’ll arrive to the picturesque village of Povoação, where we will stop to taste the famous “Fofas da Povoação” (local pastry). Then, our tour continues to the most flowery municipality of São Miguel Island , Northeast. We will have the opportunity to see and appreciate the landscapes from the viewpoints of Ponta do Sossego and Ponta da Madrugada, overlooking the sea and coastline. Then, time to stop for lunch served, in a traditional restaurant. On our way to Ponta Delgada, we will admire the ancient water mills at Ribeira dos Caldeirões, where for decades the cereals of the surrounding parishes where grinded. The tour also includes passage in Gorreana Tea factory, one of the few existing in Europe and the oldest of our island, with a taste of the different teas produced there. Return to Ponta Delgada is made by North Coast, where you can admire the way the northern sea and winds shaped the northern slopes.
