A tour to discover the remote villages of the interior of the Algarve, still unspoilt by the artificiality of modern life. The countryside is rugged with break-taking views of rolling hills and green valleys. Carobs, almonds, figs and olives grow along streep slopes. Visit one of the highest points of Caldeirao Mountains. The villages of Querenca and Salir stand out like tiny jewels against the rough hill scenery, small ensembles of white and graceful houses overgrown with jacarandas and bougainvilleas. Spend the afternoon in Alte, “the most typical Algarvian village”. Enjoy the white washed houses with decorative chimneys and the spring waterfalls and walk on the narrow winding cobbled pathways.
