Between Marbella and Gibraltar lies the quaint village of Estepona, a bit of paradise for those who want to enjoy the sea and the sun in a quiet environment. For the most active there is “La Sierra Bermeja” mountains (reddish mountains) that houses a National Park with long trails of crimson color and outcrops of volcanic peridotite. The village itself is a typical Andalusian place with white washed houses and steep narrow cobbled streets.
Open air cafés, bodegas (wine cellars), restaurants and tapa bars are very friendly and reasonably priced. In the neighborhood we can visit some of the famous “Pueblos Blancos” (white villages) and British Gibraltar at the wheel of a rented car.
