Pico Island from Faial

Depart Horta's Harbour and cross channel towards the Island of Pico. Arrival in Madalena beginning of the tour around the Island where the ocean makes an exciting show of sound and colour. Drive on to the area of “Mistérios” mystery-amounts of spread lava from early volcanic eruptions. From S. Roque, drive on an inner road, crossing the Island to the South, area where endemic vegetation can be seen, such as Azorean juniper, Azorean mahogany and laurel tress. Lunch en route. After lunch you will have the option to visit the Whalers Museum. On the way back to Madalena's Harbour, visit a handcraft exhibition, a cheese factory, and a wine cellar, before boarding the boat back to Horta.
