How to Get There

From Lisbon Airport: Follow the motorway A1 in direction to “Porto”. Leave the motorway at km 31 in direction to “Carregado/Alenquer” and after pay the toll follow the IC2 in direction too Alenquer. After 3,5km, on the roundabout, at the entrance of Alenquer, turn right following the sign of “Turismo Rural”. After 50m turn left and 100 m after turn right. You will find the entrance to the Quinta do Covanco at your left.

Vila de Alenquer, well known as “Vila Presépio”, belongs to the Western Region, a region of extensive vineyards and hills crowned with mills between a maritime coast with extensive beaches and the beauty of the Tagus River.

Is located at the entrance to Vila de Alenquer and 30km from Lisbon, allowing you to have a thoroughly deserved few days break as well as getting to know other historic sites that are worth visiting such as Lisbon, Sintra, the Mafra and Queluz Convents, Óbidos, Nazaré, Tomar, Fátima…

Quinta do Covanco dates back to the XIX century and is marked by a rural architectural style derived from the agricultural activities my grandfather performed in the past, mainly vines. This imposing infrastructure was adapted to provide every comfort and a family atmosphere to those who visit us… The farm is able to offer you the pleasure of comfortable accommodation, the tranquil surrounding countryside and a relaxed family atmosphere where you will have the chance to experience tasty home-cooked meals.

After a lovely night’s sleep, there’s nothing like a lovely breakfast where mother Teresa’s homemade cakes and compotes are the highlight – cannot be missed. A stroll through the Quinta could be the next part of the day, or a visit to the historic town Alenquer and Montejunto Mountain, or simply enjoy some of the best Portuguese wines on the Wine trail or the West´s beautiful beaches like Peniche, Santa Cruz, Nazaré and the Berlengas islands – a maritime nature reserve of rare beauty – are particularly noteworthy.

To bring such a lovely day to an end, you can enjoy a lovely home cooked meal, a drink in front of a relaxing hearth or even adventure out to sample the good gourmet cuisine of the municipality’s restaurants.
