Three hour city tour begins with a drive along Liberty Avenue to Rossio square, in the heart of the city. Followed by a short walk through part of the Alfama, the oldest and the most picturesque quarter of the city. Wine tasting in a handicraft shop. Drive along the Tagus River to Praça do Comercio and cross one of the bridges (if traffic permits). See 2 important landmarks, the Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries, dedicated to the early Portuguese explorations of the New World. Stop at the Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture. Visit the Coach Museum, the largest collection in the world. Both are closed on Mondays, replaced by Ajuda Palace or Fundacao Medeiros e Almeida.

Drive across the largest cork region in the world for a journey into the past. In Evora, capital of the province of Alentejo, visit the ruins of the Roman Temple, the Romanesque Gothic Cathedral, the Bones Chapel and the university. Walking along its streets, you will appreciate why this city is designated “World Heritage”. Lunch is included. Drive back to Lisbon with a stop in Setúbal, famous fishing centre.
OBIDOS, NAZARE & FATIMA $130

From Lisbon we drive north and arrive at the beautiful walled town of Óbidos with its picturesque streets and the Pousada do Castelo. Then on to Alcobaça to visit the 12th century church and learn of the tragic love story of Pedro and Inês de Castro. Lunch in Nazaré, a traditional fishing village. Panoramic view of the town and the coastline. In the afternoon, visit the Batalha Monastery, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Continue to Fátima, the famous pilgrimage site, to visit the Basilica the Chapel of Apparitions. Return to Lisbon through the farming region.

Visit romantic Pena Palace situated in on top of one of the highest peaks of Sintra mountains (or Queluz Palace). Visit the town of Sintra for lunch (included) and some free time to walk in the streets of the village and browse antique and handicraft shops. We travel through the Colares wine region to Cabo da Roca, the most western point in continental Europe. We pass the beach of Guincho and Boca do Inferno enjoying the coastal landscape to Cascais, where we glimpse the fishing port. Continue along the coast with a panoramic view of the resort of Estoril.
